Modal Mixture, Scale Degree No. 6



Many composers use Modal Mixture or Modal Interchange (it's two names of the same phenomena) in order to achieve chromatic inflections and to enrich their melodic and harmonic language. The meaning of Modal Mixture is to mix or borrow notes from the parallel scale. In this video I'm borrowing scale degree no. 6 from the parallel minor scale. Check out the video clip for more info.
